I am pleased to release the first issue of Tea Connexions News. Since the launch of the "Opportunity is Brewing" program in August 2001 much has happened.

Four years of research and development culminated in Tea Connexions sending out the first information kits. All the hard work, dreams, and goals paid off. The program is working, our buying group is growing, and the distribution of gourmet teas beautifully packaged is worldwide - with distributors in Canada, the United States, Latin America, and Europe. I never imagined the program would be so well received.

The events of 9/11 had a tremendous impact on the world and on our company. We had to re-evaluate every aspect of our business, and to work hard at ensuring that our distributors received their stock punctually. We strive to provide exceptional service to our distributors. To date, 50% of buying group members have re-ordered and continue to re-order as their customer base grows. This trend is very exciting indeed - it proves the business model is working.

I look forward to watching the buying group expand throughout 2002, with increased impetus from the new membership-driven advertising co-op. This wonderful program enables the company to grow while benefiting individual distributors who invest in the program.

Each issue of Tea Connexions News will provide up-to-date information about the company, new marketing initiatives, product releases, and distributor news. The intended audience for this newsletter is existing distributors and prospective distributors who requested information about us.

Every month Tea Connexions gives away more than US $156 worth of gourmet teas beautifully packaged at Tea 4 Free To date, we have given away US $1,248 worth of FREE gourmet teas beautifully packaged. Please visit Tea 4 Free for the list of winners.

Tea4Free is funded and managed by Tea Connexions for the benefit of our distributors. It accomplishes three key objectives:

CREATES MARKET AWARENESS
Holding a contest creates hype and market awareness for the products.

PROVIDES DISTRIBUTORS WITH CUSTOMERS
Tea4Free sends online traffic to Leaf Tea designed to refer customers to the nearest distributor.

Each entrant gives Tea Connexions permission to send a monthly newsletter that announces recent winners, provides up-to-date health information, tea recipes, trivia, tea of the month, links to distributor stores that take online orders, and much more (please visit Tea 4 Free - news to read this newsletter). Permission marketing enables us to communicate with a huge database of potential customers on a monthly basis and provide them with information on how they can order from their nearest distributor.

Permission marketing works. Within 24 hours of sending out our first newsletter, Tea 4 Free News - Teazine, April 2002, distributors began receiving orders. Not surprisingly, one of the most popular purchases was cinnamon tea - featured in the newsletter and further emphasized by tea recipes and health data. MARKET RESEARCH
Finally, this contest helps us gather market research because each entrant completes a customer service survey. This survey helps us determine drinking habits, spending habits, and tea preferences. It also allows us to determine which entrants would like to receive a catalog. When someone requests a catalog, we pass this information on to the nearest distributor. Contest data will also help us launch the new Tea of the Month program for which we have done extensive research.

  3. Advertising Co-op

An idea submitted by one of our New York distributors progressed into a full-blown advertising campaign. The program will market the "Opportunity is Brewing" program to as many as 20 million readers monthly between April 1, 2002 and March 31, 2003. Ads will appear in 10 business opportunity magazines PLUS Entrepreneur, and USA Today. To learn more about how you can benefit from this program, call us, toll free 1-877-532-LEAFTEA (532-3832). Please note: this program is offered exclusively to distributor members. If you are an existing re-seller member interested in participating, we would be happy to send you details. However, you cannot participate without upgrading to distributor. A limited number of units are available; the deadline for purchasing units is April 12th, 2002.

  4. Newsletters to Help You Succeed

Buying group members will benefit from three distinct e-zines, which will be e-mailed and added to the online training:

INTERNET MARKETING NEWSLETTER
Our resident Internet Marketing Expert, will produce an Internet marketing newsletter to help you increase traffic to your turnkey e-commerce website. We have seen a dramatic traffic increase to Tea 4 Free and our number of entries has gone from 30 per month to an average of 1200 to 1500 new entries per month.

HTML NEWSLETTER
Our Chief Web Designer, Joel Grineau, is working on an html newsletter to help you learn more about html, giving you increased freedom and control over your website.

SALES AND MARKETING NEWSLETTER
Our Sales and Marketing expert, Ryan Low, will produce a monthly newsletter packed full of marketing tips and tricks to increase your sales and customer base.

  5. Re-design of - Leaf Tea Biz

On April 1, 2002, we launched the re-design of Leaf Tea Biz, our website featuring this opportunity.

  6. New Product Introductions

It is with great pleasure that I announce the launch of 30 new products. We received our first shipment of samples on Friday, April 5th. We brought in 1200 pieces - a total shipment weight of 1500 pounds!

Included in these samples are 14 more varieties of loose tea: muscatel darjeeling, second flush darjeeling, first flush darjeeling, high elevation assam, organic darjeeling green tea, silver white tips, gun powder darjeeling green tea, earl grey, apple, jasmine, rose, masala, black currant, and cardamom. FREE samples of these new flavours and varieties will be offered to Distributor members and Ad Co-op participants under the following conditions: the member must be in good standing; the member, through product re-orders, has demonstrated that they are actively building their tea businesses; and the member must agree to pay for the shipping cost to send the FREE samples to them. Included with this shipment are 16 more gourmet teas beautifully packaged. Pictures of all samples will be posted in the online training.

In three to four weeks, 30 new tea bag flavours will be arriving. There has been a slight delay because these teas originate in Sri Lanka, but are consolidated in India by our tea purchasers.

  7. New Marketing Plans

Several turnkey marketing plans including a Tea Party Marketing Plan and Tea of the Month Club Marketing Plan are in the planning and development stages. Both programs will be supported with print marketing tools and the launch of new websites designed to channel traffic to distributors.

TEA PARTY MARKETING PLAN
This plan will enable distributor members to launch their own brand marketed through a program of home-based tea parties. Support for this plan will include a website, Leaf Tea Party and customized marketing tools to promote the program. Leaf Tea Party will serve as a portal channeling interested parties to the nearest tea party distributor.

TEA OF THE MONTH CLUB
This plan is specifically designed for distributors who want to set up customers for monthly autoships of tea. The initial plan will utilize 30 varieties of naturally flavored tea bags with a Ceylon base (tea from Sri Lanka) plus several varieties of loose tea. Market research for this program has been ongoing and conducted at Tea 4 Free. Support for this plan will correspond with the launch of Monthly Tea which will market the program and refer consumers to their nearest distributor/fulfillment center.

  8. Drop Shipping Program

There has been a growing demand for a drop ship program that enables distributors to get orders, but not fill them. You spoke and we have listened. Tea Connexions now offers drop shipping of retail orders in the United States and Canada.
