Exclusive to the Tea Connexions website is the first picture of Bridget Wassermann (see above), who is set to become a new icon for good housekeeping, family values and a heroine for the world of tea. Although it's 5000 years since a Chinese Emperor accidentally discovered the invigorating qualities of tea, this staple worldwide beverage has never spawned a true heroine. Soon we'll be hearing more about Bridget through a series of media formats being developed by UK based Shangers Ltd. who are currently in advanced negotiations with Canada's Tea Connexions, with a view to launching a new range of Shangers' products in the USA and Canada in 2004.
Bridget Wassermann has been created as a 20th century woman born to Irish/German parents. As a young woman, Bridget learns the tea trade in England, survives the sinking of the Titanic and builds a new life in Canada and the United States. In her later years Bridget, a fine storyteller, entertained her grandchildren by creating the fantasy world of Teaopolis with its own heroine character, Princess Teana.
With collectables, recipes and useful tea accessories to celebrate the life of Bridget; with tea-party toys, DVDs, videos, dressing-up games and storybooks to create the magical world of Princess Teana, the scene is being set to formally welcome Bridget Wassermann and her fantasy tea kingdom of Teaopolis.
Tea Connexions of Saskatoon will henceforth be posting regular updates on the development of this new product category and its discussions with Shangers Ltd.
